Regarding the nature of AIS’ responsibilities at Provider sites: While AIS is contractually obligated to deliver, install and configure a tested version of PAS that meets both BCJ’s and AIS’ rigorous quality control standards, AIS is in no way obligated to make PAS work in each hardware and software environment. Therefore, if it can be established that difficulties encountered during an installation are related to the hardware and/or software environment at a Provider’s site, and NOT to problems inherent with PAS, the Provider needs to be clear about the fact that we are not obligated to “do whatever it takes” to make PAS work on his/her computer(s). Of course, it is in everyone’s best interest to get PAS installed and working at as many sites as possible, and as such, it stands to reason that AIS will make reasonable attempts to do so. However, when all reasonable troubleshooting methods have been exhausted at a site, AIS will communicate (in written and verbal form) the exact nature of the problem to the Provider(s) so that he/she may seek other computer professionals to deal with their hardware and/or software issues. If necessary, AIS will gladly liaise with other computer professionals in an attempt to solve the problem(s). When the issues have been resolved, AIS will return as soon as possible to continue and complete the installation. |

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BCJ's
MEDICAL, OPTICAL AND DENTAL PROVIDERS Dear Provider Provider Access System (PAS) is an integrated operating environment for the on line, real time, adjudication of health insurance claims, and is comprised of software as well as hardware peripherals. PAS is delivered to providers on the basis of a licensing arrangement which anticipates Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) being responsible to maintain both the software and the hardware for the period of the license, and to underscore its commitment to doing so by way of clear obligation under a contract, the Provider Service Contract. Failure to execute the Provider Service Contract does not in any way preclude a provider from using the PAS System but it affects and modifies the relationship with Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS), and the way the relationship was intended to be structured. Many Blue Cross providers have recognized the importance and indeed the wisdom of executing the Provider Service Contract to secure their right to service, and to ensure the obligation of Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) to provide that service under very clearly defined responsibilities, terms and conditions, as laid out in the Provider Service Contract. To those providers Advanced Integrated Systems Limited acknowledges the highest duty of care. However, for providers who elect not to execute the Provider Service Contract and avail themselves of the rights available thereunder, Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) cannot acknowledge a level of responsibility equal to that due to those providers who have executed the Provider Service Contract. The arrangement between Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) and such providers will, therefore, be construed to be (a) delivery of the requisite hardware peripherals and software, (b) installation and testing of same, indicated and established by the successful adjudication of three (3) test claims by provider personnel in the presence of Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) personnel, (c) training of provider personnel for the usual duration of up to nine (9) hours and (d), an implied warranty of sixty (60) days. Any calls made to Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) by a provider who has not executed the Provider Service Contract after the expiration of the sixty (60) day warranty period will be treated as a non-contracted service call, which will attract charges as detailed below: SCHEDULE OF CHARGES
Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) is the sole Jamaican licensor of the PAS System and retains the sole and total right to the intellectual property it represents. Therefore, it is important that providers who elect not to execute the Providers Service Contract understand the nature of the following aspects of the relationship which apply despite their non-execution of such a Contract:

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PHARMACY
PROVIDERS Dear Pharmacy Provider Provider Access System (PAS) is an integrated operating environment for the online, real time, adjudication of health insurance claims, and is comprised of software as well as hardware peripherals. PAS is delivered to providers on the basis of a licensing arrangement, which anticipates Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) being responsible to maintain both the software and the hardware for the period of the licence, and to underscore its commitment to doing so by way of clear obligation under a contract, the Provider Service Contract. Failure to execute the Provider Service Contract does not in any way preclude a provider from using the PAS System, but it affects and modifies the relationship with Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS). However, for providers who do not execute the Provider Service Contract, thereby availing themselves of the rights available thereunder, Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) cannot acknowledge a level of responsibility equal to that due to those providers who have executed the Provider Service Contract. Because pharmacy providers utilizing 3rd party pharmacy application software into which PAS has been integrated do not need to execute a Provider Service Agreement with Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) their service and support arrangement is between themselves and the supplier of such pharmacy application software. Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) having provided a 3rd party pharmacy application software supplier with Provider Access System (PAS), and having provided technical guidance to facilitate its integration into the application provider’s product, has no responsibility for the eventual product and cannot warrant it in any way. Therefore, in such cases the responsibility of Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) is limited to the delivery of the requisite hardware peripheral(s) to the application software supplier who is then responsible to install, test and support the application software product of which elements of Provider Access System (PAS) has become a part, in the client’s environment, on such terms and conditions as have been contracted between both parties. All service calls of whatever nature are to be directed to the application software provider. Advanced Integrated Systems Limited (AIS) is the sole
Jamaican licensor of the PAS System and retains the sole and total right
to the intellectual property it represents. Therefore, it is important
that providers who elect not to execute the Providers Service Contract
understand the following, which applies despite the non-execution of such
a Contract:
