Insurance Adjudication System Developed in Jamaica to be Marketed in India

A Jamaican technology platform, developed by Advanced Integrated Systems, (AIS), is currently being marketed in India and expectation is that its use in that country may bring millions in revenue to Jamaica.

The distribution of technology product Provider Access System (PAS) is being done by Indian company Suvarna Technosoft.

PAS is the only online real-time health insurance adjudication system available and is used in Jamaica by over 4,800 Healthcare Providers to submit insurance claims, online, realtime, to Health Insurance companies.

PAS is also being used by the National Insurance Board of the Bahamas, where it was awarded the Computer World Laureate, as best of breed in the world.

Suresh Tarigopula, the CEO of Suvarna Technosoft told the gathering at Tuesday’s (May 9, 2017) launch of PAS-MD – the Medical Practice Management System - that his company is undertaking marketing the Jamaican developed product to insurance companies in his native India.

“We have partnered with Advanced Integrated Systems with the Hospital Information Management System – PAS-HIMS developed in India and now being implemented as part of the digitization of the University Hospital of the West Indies. We are now seeking to do the same for AIS as they have done for us with PAS-HIMS by taking the Jamaican made PAS into India,” Mr. Tarigopula said.

CEO of AIS, Doug Halsall indicated that AIS has been working to provide technology to increase the efficiency of and reduce claim time and costs, in the health insurance business.

He says “the partnership with Suvarna has been very rewarding and he welcomes this next step which will take the Jamaican developed PAS platform, to such a large market as India.”

Apart from Mobile Money, AIS provides several health technology platforms, including PAS-PIMS for Pharmacy, PAS-MD for doctors, PAS-HIMS for hospitals, PAS-LIMS for labs, PAS-RIS for radiology.

The suite of Health Information System (HIS) platforms covers all patient contact points and their capacity to be integrated could theoretically lead to the most comprehensive database of real-time health information for use by any Ministry of Health.
