Advanced Integrated Systems Set to Enter US Market with Locally Developed Insurance Adjudication System

Leading Jamaican technology company, Advanced Integrated Systems (AIS) is set to introduce its locally developed insurance adjudication system to the United States. This comes as AIS has signed a contract with an agent for a United States Third Party Administrator that may lead to processing medical and pharmacy claims from that country. This was revealed by Chairman and CEO of AIS, Doug Halsall at the recent launch of his company’s new Medical Practice Management System – PAS-MD held at the Pegasus hotel on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.

Mr. Halsall indicated that he is hoping the agreement will lead to contracts for processing Medical and Pharmacy claims from the USA by sometime next year and to the exploration of markets for the Hospital Information Management System (PAS-HIMS) and the Medical Practice Management System (PAS-MD).

The technology platform that is the subject of the present agreement, the Provider Access System (PAS) is the only online real-time health insurance adjudication system available and is used in Jamaica by over 4,800 Healthcare Providers to submit insurance claims, online, realtime, to Health Insurance companies.

PAS is also being used by the National Insurance Board of the Bahamas, where it was awarded the Computer World Laureate, as best of breed in the world.

Apart from Mobile Money, AIS provides several health technology platforms, including PAS-PIMS for Pharmacy, PAS-MD for doctors, PAS-HIMS for hospitals, PAS-LIMS for labs, PAS-RIS for radiology.

The suite of Health Information System (HIS) platforms covers all patient contact points and their capacity to be integrated could theoretically lead to the most comprehensive database of real-time health information for use by any Ministry of Health.
